BlogDoc is an attempt by Saravana Kumar to consolidate all the available public
blog posts related to BizTalk Server (any versions after 2004) and aggregate them
into a nice MSDN style structure for easy navigation and search. The articles will
be categories based on topics such as installation, performance, testing, trouble
shooting, development etc so end users will be able to find related articles easily.
If I feel a piece of content whether its 2 lines are 2 pages adds some value to
BizTalk community that will be added to blogDoc under relevant category.
There are some strong reasons behind creating blogDoc. In recent times I have seen
blog sites going down for various reasons. Authors can’t coupe with maintaining
them continuously, blog service providers going bust, authors changing their blog
locations etc. Have you ever been in a situation “Hey!! I know the solution to the
problem was in so and so blog but I can’t find it now.” In majority of the cases
you are purely relying on search engine to get you the content and you do succeed
most of the times but not always.
The search functionality powered by Lucene will help the user to find the relevant
articles stored in blogDoc. I’m constantly working to improve it, keep watching
the space.
Following are the guiding principles behind blogDoc
- The original author with get the full credit for the article(s), they remain the
sole owner of the article. Links will be provided to the original location on each
and every article page.
- Author information (if possible with a picture) will be displayed on each and every
article.
- Authors will get a chance to update their profile information. Things like MVP status
will be update automatically (if I’m aware of it)
- Every author will get a unique URL listing all of their contents listed in blogDoc
(example: http://blogdoc.biztalk247.com/saravana-kumar ). The format is normally
http://blogdoc.biztalk247.com/<firstname>-<lastname> in majority of the situation unless there is another contributor
with same name or more than one blog is maintained by the contributor. As a favour
I request contributors to add a link from thier blog with blogDoc widget that fits your side bar
to your author page.
- Authors got full rights to opt out of blogDoc, whose content will be promptly removed.
